Even the most loyal Channel Partners event attendee might be surprised to see some of the exciting new events we have planned for Channel Partners Evolution, Sept. 25-28, in Austin, Texas.
We’re expecting more than 150 exhibitors in the expo hall, along with 100-plus industry-leading speakers, and more than 3,000 partner and supplier attendees to descend on the Austin Convention Center in just a few weeks.
Evolution (title sponsor AT&T) will feature all of the great partner education and networking events you’ve come to expect, but this fall’s event also features golf, food trucks and a television studio — all first-time attractions to a Channel Partners event.

Evolution Golf InvitationalFore! Attendees will tee it up for the first time at a Channel Partners event, as we debut the
Evolution Golf Invitational, sponsored by
CenturyLink and
WTG. Skilled players and weekend duffers alike are welcome to participate in what should be a terrific morning not only for driving, chipping and putting, but an unrivaled networking opportunity. The fun starts at 8 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 25.
The Coore Crenshaw Golf Course is "forgiving for the novice, yet still challenging for the seasoned golfer." It is known for its 18th hole, where players must make a nice approach shot across a running creek to land on a low-lying green, which seemingly is etched into the hillside.
Separate registration is required. If you are interested in golfing, reach out to
[email protected].
PreconferenceOur preconference education was so successful at the Channel Partners Conference & Expo in April, we decided to offer a lineup of preconference sessions (Monday, Sept. 25) for the first time at Channel Partners Evolution as well.
Among the highlights: Forrester's Jay McBain discusses what smart partners are doing to capitalize on new selling trends; IoT Bootcamp: We cover hardware, software, connectivity, security, regulation and more — everything you need to get an IoT practice off the ground; and ransomware: cutting-edge ways to help protect your customers' data.
Get an All Access pass and you can take advantage of this great programming.
Combined Preconference Networking Reception and First-Time Attendee Reception
We're expecting a big crowd as we merge two popular events — the networking reception that follows the
closing preconference keynote, and the traditional First-Time Attendee Reception. The fun lasts from 4:15-6:15 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 25. You must either be a first-time Channel Partners event attendee or have an all-access pass as a preconference session attendee.
Food Trucks
Austin is known as one of the best food-truck cities in America — so we're taking advantage! You can grab a bite from a food truck during the Opening Reception, sponsored by
CenturyLink, in the expo hall on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 4-7 p.m. They'll be scattered around the expo hall floor, giving you the chance to not only network with your peers but also dine on some of the best chow in the Lone Star State.
Can't make the opening reception? Well, shame on you. But seriously, if you miss it, they'll be back with breakfast tacos when the expo hall opens at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28.
Detox YogaNamaste. Let's hope you don't need the "detox" portion before the opening keynote, but hey, stuff happens. For the first time at a Channel Partners show, we'll take to the mat and invite attendees to join Bana Qashu, senior channel manager with
Avant Communications, on a zenful journey to your inner soul. Remember, when the roots are deep, there is no reason to fear the wind.
Detox yoga happens from 6-7 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26.
Evolution HubVideo will take center stage in the expo hall — literally.
The
Evolution Hub, sponsored by
Star2Star Communications, will feature a television news set where Channel Partners editors interview partners, channel chiefs and other executives in front of a live audience. The interviews will later be posted on our website. The Hub also will feature a video testimonial wall where attendees will be able to share their experiences — perhaps you'll offer tips for getting the most out of your Channel Partners experience; give a testimonial to your favorite supplier; or just thank your colleagues for another great year. We'll capture it all.
The Hub is open during expo hall hours on Tuesday and Wednesday.
LinkedIn HeadshotsAnother opportunity in the Evolution Hub is from
Mojo Marketing. The channel-marketing agency will take
professional headshots for you to use on your LinkedIn profile, and elsewhere. Best part?: It's free. Statistics show that LinkedIn members with a professional photo get up to 21 times more profile views and up to 36 times more messages than those who don't. Time to dump that blurry pic you took on your iPhone 3G seven years ago ...
Cloud Service Provider PaviliionWe'll feature a
Cloud Service Provider (CSP) Pavilion in our expo hall for the first time. One of our "experience areas," the CSP Pavilion sponsored by
Veeam Software invites partners to learn about the tools they need to grow their own cloud services bundles. Why so important? Forward-looking partners are pulling together cloud-services stacks to empower customers and make themselves indispensable.
Other experience areas include Security Central, sponsored by Verizon; and the Cloud Computing Lab, sponsored by Pax8.
EducationWe know what you're thinking. Education is a big part of every Channel Partners show, so what's new here? Answer: The topics.
Several topics take center stage in our concurrent education sessions for the first time. Among them: Bryant Tow, managing partner,
CyberRisk Solutions, shines a
light on the dark web, explaining how it works, what it means to businesses and offers ways to manage the threat it represents; Edward Haletky, principal analyst,
TVP Strategy, helps partners with their ransomware strategies, drilling down on
how to use an isolated backup to restore data; and Gary Southwell, VP and general manager, products division,
CSPi, explains
the impact that the EU's new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will have on partners doing business across the pond.
