AT&T Files Suit Against Verizon for 3G Ads
The recent “There’s a Map for That” ad campaign being run by Verizon Wireless is taking some heat from AT&T (T). AT&T is suing the carrier for supposedly misleading viewers by suggesting that AT&T’s coverage is spotty.
Echoing criticism of AT&T’s ability to support its iPhone and other smartphones in its arsenal with a sufficient network, the Verizon commercials show maps of scarce coverage that represent AT&T’s 3G coverage, clearly labeled as such; but AT&T contends the advertisements suggest the map refers to gaps in its overall coverage.
So, who can provide the user with the most supported apps? It looks like it will come down to a battle of the maps.
