Open-Xchange Server Updates Arrive
Here’s a bullet point list of the new features in the update, per Open-Xchange’s press release:
Open-Xchange, the open source Microsoft Exchange competitor, has updated their server product, apparently delivering enhanced usability and support for Android 2.1/2.2 and HTC smartphones. Here are some details.
Here’s a bullet point list of the new features in the update, per Open-Xchange’s press release:
- Over-the-air synchronization for HTC smartphones and the Android 2.1/2.2 operating systems.
- A new folder tree design and the ability to switch between messaging, contacts, calendar, and more with a single click in the web interface.
- Official support for Java 6 and Dovecot 2.0
- Ability to choose if you’re on a public or private machine and have the password stored accordingly.
It’s a minor update for Open-Xchange Server, to be sure. But when you’re one of a number of providers taking on Microsoft Exchange, every little bit helps. And a reminder: I’ll be at the Open-Xchange partner summit at November 4th – drop me a line at matt [at] NineLivesMediaInc [dot] com if you’ll be in attendance and want to meet up.
