Bomgar Extends Remote Support to Android Client
Managed services providers (MSPs) that rely on Bomgar for their remote support platform can now extend that support to Samsung Android devices, including smartphones and tablets. The secure remote support vendor recently released its Bomgar Remote Support Client for Samsung app, allowing technology support professionals to remotely control and support Samsung Android devices. Bomgar provides administrators with the abilities to fully access, view, control and fix Android-powered Samsung devices. Here are the details.
The Bomgar Remote Support Solution assists IT support with fixing remote smartphones, tablets, computers, and systems. The extended product support now works with any Samsung phone or tablet running Android version 2.3 and higher, and offers the following key features:
- full screen-sharing and remote control to troubleshoot devices;
- viewing system information to diagnose issues;
- chatting with the end-user to better understand the issue and educate the customer;
- and transferring files to and from the device.
“We understand smartphones and tablets are becoming the primary device for many people, and that’s why we don’t charge extra or require add-ons for supporting mobile devices,” said Bomgar Vice President of Product Management Troy Harrison. “Bomgar is a single, centralized solution that allows you to support all of your systems, including Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, BlackBerry and more. Plus, it allows you to conduct multiple sessions simultaneously and collaborate with other reps within sessions, allowing you to be more productive and resolve issues faster.”
The Bomgar Support Client is available for download from Google Play. Support can be provided to Android devices from a Windows, Mac or Linux computer, or from an iPad, iPhone or any Android smartphone or tablet via Bomgar’s Mobile Rep Consoles.
Bomgar has more than 6,500 customers globally. Partner information is available through the company's website.
