Microsoft Unveils Preview Version of Email, Texting App for Android
Talkin’ Cloud 100 honoree Microsoft (MSFT) has launched a preview version of its email and texting app for Android phones.
Microsoft last week unveiled Send for Android users in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Denmark and the UK.
The technology giant said the expanded availability of Send will allow more people to take advantage of a “simple, quick text message-like experience when connecting with co-workers, customers and classmates on the go.”
“We added the ability to delete conversations, add people to conversations, send direct messages to people from a group conversation, share your location, make a phone call and more,” Microsoft wrote in a blog post.Â
Microsoft in July unveiled Send for for iPhone for Office 365 business and education customers.
The app was designed to make conversations “fast and fluid,” according to Microsoft.Â
“Send doesn’t show all your emails, just the ones started in the app, keeping you in control,” Microsoft wrote in a blog post. “All Send messages comply with your organization’s email compliance policies — they are treated like any other work email.”
The preview version of Send for Android phones with 4.2 and up is now available.Â
