Novell Extends Management, Security to Mobile Devices
IT software developer Novell is extending its existing management and security capabilities to mobile devices with the release of ZENworks Mobile Management (ZMM). Novell says the new solution addresses the pain points device administrators and managers face today, including BYOD (bring your own device), security, application and file sharing, asset and inventory management and compliance issues. Novell's release of this MDM solution follows a recent report from market research firm Forrester that found that 53 percent of employees use their own devices for work. Here's more on the Novell solution.
To expand the company's existing management and security capabilities to mobile devices, Novell has provided enterprises with the ability to control and secure large and diverse set of mobile devices in the workforce. These operating systems include the following: iOS, Android, Symbian, Windows Mobile and other ActiveSync enabled devices.
ZENworks Mobile Management includes the following features, according to Novell:
- Over-the-air/hands-off enrollment
- Application provisioning and file sharing
- Customizable security settings
- Inventory and asset management
- Alerts and notifications
Novell ZENworks MDM is available for $59 per device and $15 per year for maintenance. Subscriptions, on the other hand, are $30 per year. To learn more about Novell's partner program, visit here.
