Verizon: We Will Sell Palm Pre
Verizon says Sprint ’s exclusive stranglehold on the Palm Pre won’t last long.
Verizon Wireless CEO Lowell McAdam announced Thursday that his company will sell the Pre and a new version of the BlackBerry Storm, perhaps by the end of the year. Sprint starts selling the Pre on June 6.
Verizon is the exclusive carrier for the Storm, introduced by RIM last fall.
The news comes one day after AT&T announced an interest in selling the Pre.
Palm’s stock was up more than 9 percent in early afternoon trading.
