IBM Connects its Cloud to NetSuite

IBM’s acquisition of Cast Iron Systems is already paying a dividend, as Big Blue announces a partnership with NetSuite to integrate their respective cloud solutions. The goal: ERP, delivered as a service, and fully integrated with on-premise systems.

As we reported earlier this week, Cast Iron Systems is a cloud integrator, with solutions designed to bring on-premises and the cloud together. In this case, Cast Iron Systems can help users of NetSuite OneWorld manage subsidiary business operations in real-time and then roll up transaction data to corporate-level SAP or even an Oracle ERP system, according to NetSuite’s press release.

And if you don’t want to use either of the connectors listed above, Cast Iron Systems’ solution can be used to integrate OneWorld with, and I quote, a “wide variety of other on-premise software systems.”

NetSuite is a major player in software-as-a-service ERP. And the company's recent SuiteCloud conference in San Francisco revealed a growing base of NetSuite channel partners that are cashing in on SaaS services. So far, most of the NetSuite partner push has involved shifting customers from Microsoft Dynamics CRM to the NetSuite platform. We'll be watching to see if IBM-Cast Iron helps to bolster those efforts.
