Apple’s January 27 Surprise: The Tablet?
The image on the right hit a few privileged email inboxes yesterday. It’s part of an Apple invitation to a January 27, 2010 event. Is Steve Jobs finally ready to unveil the long-rumored Apple Tablet? Here are some educated guesses.
Engadget, MacRumors and Arstechnica, are all a twitter with reports that Apple has made it official and the rumors (well, part of them) were true. The invitations are for a 10 a.m. PST event at the — correctly speculated — Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.
Despite all the Tablet rumors, Apple is playing coy with the line “Come see our latest creation.” Oddly enough, they’ve used spray paint as the backdrop / theme of the invite. Does this point to a potential use of the product or what the product is? In the past, Apple has been cute in giving out subtle clues, but this one seems a little odd.

Still, Apple has yet to confirm plans for a tablet device. So the world waits with bated breath to see if Apple on January 27 will, indeed, unveil the mythical tablet. Oh, and just one more thing: Now there’s a rumor that touch screen iMacs are on the way, too…
