Channel Partner Program Roundup: Prelert, Mindtree, ShoreTel

In this pre-Christmas edition of the Channel Partner Program Roundup, we've got a passel of news from Prelert, Mindtree and ShoreTel.

The countdown is on to Christmas, but we’ve got a passel of goodies in this week’s Channel Partner Program Roundup, our weekly collection of all things channel partner-related. What’s in our bag of need-to-know items this week? Items from Prelert, Mindtree and ShoreTel (SHOR). So, without further ado, let’s start this roundup.

Prelert: The data sciences applications vendor has signed a reseller agreement with Cymbel, an information technology solutions provider focused on security and compliance. Cymbel will include Prelert’s Anomaly Detective 3.0 in its offerings to its customers in the financial services, defense, high-tech and health care sectors.

Anomaly Detective 3.0 uses unsupervised machine learning predictive analytics to automatically learn the normal behavior patterns of populations of users, devices and resources. Then, using sophisticated population analytics, it cross-correlates multiple data sources in real time to identify the anomalous behaviors that are the indicators of advanced security threats. 

“Log management and analysis has been dominated by monolithic, vertically integrated solutions that provide all-in-one log collection, parsing, storage, query, analytics and visualization. However, with Prelert’s Anomaly Detective, that is now changing,” said Bill Frank, principal at Cymbel Corporation. “Prelert’s success with developing Big Data analytics that use unsupervised machine learning to find advanced security threats is an indicator that we have entered a new era.”

Mindtree: The global information technology solutions company announced that two of its solutions have won the SAP 2013 Industry Mobile App Challenges at the SAP TechEd conference. The winners were honored in a special ceremony at the conference.

Mindtree was the winner of the SAP 2013 Transport and Logistics Mobile App Challenge with its mInspect solution, which tightly integrates with the SAP Commercial Project Management application, bringing project issue and change management to mobile devices. Mindtree also was the winner of the SAP 2013 Retail Mobile App Challenge for its mPromo solution, which enables real-time insight into performance of promotions and provides proactive analysis to help retailers make real-time decisions.

ShoreTel: The communications and unified communications vendor has tapped Mark Roberts as chief marketing officer. Roberts has more than 20 years of technology marketing experience and brings strong technology, channel and unified communications industry expertise to ShoreTel, most recently in the role as vice president of Marketing Americas for Mitel, noted ShoreTel.

As ShoreTel’s CMO, Roberts will lead marketing strategy, product marketing, demand generation, branding and external communications.

Roberts has been with technology companies most of his career, holding senior positions at NexTraq, Polycom, 3Com and Intel. While the CMO at NexTraq he implemented changes in marketing functions that resulted in a substantial increase in new business coming from marketing activities, and his revamping of product positioning and sales tools contributed to overall business growth.

“It’s an exciting time to join the ShoreTel team, and I look forward to contributing to the company’s success,” said Roberts. “I’ll be focused on positioning the company’s continued leadership in the cloud and premises UC market while building on the existing strong brand. ShoreTel has great products, amazing partners, customers and employees, and numerous growth initiatives underway to get the business to the next level.”
