HP Channel Chief Tapped to Lead Company’s Enterprise Security Products Division
Sue Barsamian, Hewlett-Packard’s resident channel chief, will take on the role of senior vice president of Enterprise Security Products for HP Software, effective immediately.
Barsamian will remain in her position as senior vice president of Worldwide Indirect Sales in addition to managing HP’s Enterprise Security Products, according to an email sent to the media.
“Security is an area of tremendous importance and focus for our company, and is at the heart of one of the four Transformation Areas for Hewlett Packard Enterprise, the company stated in the email. “Given the significance of this business, it is essential that we have the right leadership in place to fully capitalize on the market opportunities before us and deliver results.”
In her new role, Barsamian will report to Robert Youngjohns and will oversee HP’s go-to-market strategy for ESP, in addition to managing the delivery of products and services for customer risk management. She will also continue to function as worldwide channel chief until a new leader of Indirect Sales is appointed, according to the email.
“The channel is absolutely critical to our business, and our commitment to the partner ecosystem at HP has never been stronger,” HP said.
An HP representative said former Senior Vice President and General Manager of Enterprise Security Products Art Gilliland left his position last month to join a start-up, but did not specify which company he had joined. Gilliland had formerly served as senior vice president and general manager of Symantec’s Information Security Group before joining HP in July 2012.
