The distribution details are as follows:
- Avnet: Avnet Technology Solutions strengthened support for ARM technology at ARM TechCon 2011. The distributor and ARM have built a web portal dubbed The Embedded Software Store, dedicated to delivering their combined technology strengths to community partners in an effort to expand the use of ARM-based technologies in all areas of the IT world. Avnet hopes the available downloads and information will “address the many challenges of embedded software development” while unifying the ARM community with ARM-based suppliers. You can check out the web portal here.
- Tech Data: The VAR Guy sees another win for the consumerization of IT trend here. Tech Data has launched the new accessTD application in the Apple App Store, designed for partners to access the entirety of TechData.com without the hassle of using the browser. According to Tech Data, partners can get everything from list prices to quotes and order tracking from the app. Tech Data also has ensured that existing Tech Data partner log-in information works with the app, and partners can even do custom logo markups and checkouts for customers inside the application. Best part? It’s totally free and it’s a universal app, meaning native resolution support on the iPad. Get it now.
Aside from Tech Data and Avnet, other distribution moves abound, including FalconStor’s storage partnership with Fujitsu and Dot Hill’s moves with Info X. Check back here next Friday for your weekly distribution news, from yours truly, The VAR Guy.
