Tech Data Increases Digital Signage Portfolio with iTeam

Tech Data is expanding its digital signage portfolio offerings with onsite installation services. Resellers now can now leverage iTeam Inc., which lives in the Digital Signage and Projectors business unit, to fast-track digital signage implementation. Read on for some detail and perspective.

Tech Data is expanding its digital signage portfolio offerings with onsite installation services. Resellers now can now leverage iTeam Inc., which lives in the Digital Signage and Projectors business unit, to fast-track digital signage implementation. Read on for some detail and perspective.

Tech Data’s press release notes that digital signage is one of the “fastest growing technologies in the market today” and The VAR Guy’s observations last week seem to reflect that, as he reminded us that digital signage VARs might want to look at expanding their advertising to mobile platforms like the iPad.

Tech Data’s portfolio expansion with iTeam reportedly will increase reseller access to more than 120 digital signage experts for tech support. According to Tech Data, this number far exceeds any other distributor’s offerings out there. (But let’s not forget Ingram Micro’s efforts.)

Resellers specializing in key verticals such as education, health care and the government more and more are integrating digital signage solutions into new and existing network infrastructure or system integration. iTeam’s purpose in life is to reduce the work associated with running the extra wire and cable to drive digital signage systems by serving as an extension of the reseller’s team.

iTeam’s “Service-as-a-Product” approach ideally can help resellers gain a competitive advantage without having to invest in new staff and sacrifice margins. iTeam has more than 14,000 certified technicians across North America ready to help.

A digital signage partner can — of course — partner with iTeam, but iTeam is also available to resellers who want to purchase iTeam services through the techdata.com catalog for quick bundling and fast quotes and orders. Added bonus: iTeam also can provide “staff augmentation” for network, printer and data center installations.

What’s the bigger picture? Can VARs truly capitalize using iTeam’s Service-as-a-Product approach? Hmm….
