Servoyant 4.1: Network Management Via the Cloud or Appliance

Servoyant Company S LogoServoyant continues to enhance its network monitoring platform for MSPs. The Servoyant system is available via the cloud or as an appliance-based solution. The latest release, called Servoyant 4.1, includes more than 70 enhancements, most notably an updated integration with Autotask APIs for more efficient workflow, new adaptive recievers to generate alerts, an improved automatic provisioning system, and remote monitoring improvements, the company claims.

The Servoyant platform has been in constant development for about six years, and Servoyant has been on a quarterly release schedule for the past year. When version 4.0 arrived in June 2011, Servoyant Co-Founder and CEO Enrique Krajmalnik mentioned the company was trying to develop more vertically-focused solutions just before Servoyant made an international remote monitoring push.

The 4.0 release "has one of the first integrations that supports verticals," said Krajmalnik as he noted the platform's support for Cisco Video Security Products. "Now VARs and MSPs who have developed a security practice can centrally manage remote video security products across multiple clients and devices." Krajmalnik said Servoyant has several verticals in mind, and that we will soon hear of Servoyant partnerships targeted at those verticals.

On the provisioning end, Krajmalnik said Servoyant clients will save "70 percent to 80 percent" of the time they usually spend on manually building templates. "The biggest benefit is that the platform ensures that everything is consistent and uniform for all clients," Krajmalnik said. "The system makes sure that you're monitoring everything you should be."

Servoyant worked with its client advisory group and Cisco Security VARs to develop many of the new Servoyant management features -- including remote access for mobile technicians. Specifitally, IT service providers can use Android, WebOS and iOS mobile devices to manage customer networks.

The Servoyant management platform will be automatically updated for all current users. The platform is available as a hosted platform or through a self-hosting licensing model. Krajmalnik said Servoyant is "competitively priced" without getting into specifics. Companies that sign up for Servoyant through their MSP can use the platform for free for 30 days.
