Pertino is taking its cloud networking solutions to the Dell Cloud Marketplace. The company announced its partnership with Dell at Dell World this week—a partnership that will put Pertino’s Cloud Network Engine service on Dell’s online cloud applications store.
Through the partnership, Dell will resell the Cloud Network Engine service beginning in early 2015. The service was designed to enable customers to quickly build virtual private cloud networks that connect instances and containers across any cloud.
The launch on the Dell Cloud Marketplace will provide benefits to both IT managers and developers.
“By teaming with Pertino for the Dell Cloud Marketplace, Dell can help developers and IT managers simply and securely connect compute instances and containerized applications across any cloud, enabling them to reap the benefits of multi and hybrid cloud computing,” said James Thomason, Dell Cloud Marketplace CTO, in a prepared statement. “With Pertino, we can now add ‘connect’ to the compare, consume and control capabilities that the Dell Cloud Marketplace offers customers.”
Cloud Network Engine is a network-as-a-service platform that enables any size of business to build and manage private cloud networks that overlay the Internet using public clouds as hubs. Using a mix of technologies including software-defined networking (SDN), virtualization and big data, Cloud Network Engine is positioned as agile and extensible, but also simple to use and “ultra-reliable.”
The addition of the Pertino cloud networking service on the Dell Cloud Marketplace could open the company up to a broader audience of customers and partners; and for Dell’s customer and partner base, it presents another opportunity in the growing cloud computing market.
