Office 365: Secure Cloud, Mobile Email Add-Ons Proliferate
Office 365, Microsoft’s cloud application suite, is attracting third-party email security and mobility enhancements. The latest example involves Perimeter E-Security‘s Archive Anywhere — a cloud-based service that allows users to view and search their mailbox archives anywhere from any device, the company claims. But are there channel partner opportunities for third-party Office 365 services?
The answer is yes. Perimeter E-Security, after all, has been ranked among the world’s top 100 managed services providers (MSPs) multiple times, according to MSPmentor (Talkin’ Cloud’s sister site). So Perimeter E-Security itself is a prime example of a channel partner adding value to Office 365. The company claims Archive Anywhere supports mobile email access across Windows, Apple and Linux platforms — both mobile (smart phones, tablets, notebooks) and desktop.
Perimeter E-Security is getting comfortable in the Office 365 market. The company launched a Compliance and Continuity Suite for Office 365 allows organizations to archive email, meet regulatory requirements and preserve uptime.
Meanwhile, CiperCloud recently announced a cloud-based encryption service for Office 365, though I believe it’s focused mainly on Exchange Online. Similarly, MimeCast recently upgraded its cloud-based Email Security service for Office 365.
The CiperCloud, Perimeter E-Security and MimeCast moves suggest to me that the Office 365 market for secure, mobile add-ons is ripe with opportunity.
