Managed Services: 7 Blogs MSPmentor Didn’t Write, July 26
We’ve completed the third-annual Top 100 Cloud Services Providers report and list. Also called the Talkin’ Cloud 100, it will debut during CompTIA ChannelCon on July 30. MSPs and many of their cloud providers (names like Datto, Intronis and LogMeIn) made the list. But you’ll have to wait until Tuesday for complete results, rankings and research. In the meantime here are seven managed services provider (MSP) blogs and news stories for the week ending July 26, 2013.
7. ManageEngine: Keep an eye on them. More thoughts soon.
6. Remember Windows Intune?: Has Microsoft said or done much lately to promote Windows Intune to MSPs? I certainly haven’t heard much. But Rod Trent over at Windows IT Pro noticed this recent update…
5. NetEnrich: More than a NOC provider. Organizing my thoughts to explain why. Soon.
4. New Hires: Axcient veteran Chris Sterbenc has joined FreedomVoice as VP of sales. Also on board: J2 Global veteran Spencer Parikh as director of marketing. The familiar names don’t end there. Spam Soap veteran Rob Leon joined the company several months ago…
3. MSP Software Earnings: SolarWinds is optimistic about N-able. CA Technologies is bragging about Nimsoft. LogMeIn’s CEO is shouting about MSP and channel success. Next up? AVG Technologies‘ first earnings results since buying Level Platforms. Yes, there have been some Level Platform staff cuts and exits in recent weeks. In some cases, we’ve avoided the temptation to blog each and every time an employee exits the company. Instead, we’re holding out to see what AVG says on its earnings call. Stay tuned…
2. Life Work Balance: My wife and I have three sons. Our middle guy turns 13 on Saturday. The reward? He’ll be flying with me to ChannelCon (but heading to his grandparents in Orlando). After ChannelCon he’ll join me for some intense times at Universal Studios Orlando. Special thanks to Arlin Sorensen at HTG Peer Groups who keeps reminding me about life-work balance.
1. Deadline Looms: Participate in our sixth-annual MSPmentor 250 survey, which identifies the world’s top managed services experts, executives and entrepreneurs. Yes, you can nominate yourself. Sorry, 2012 honorees can’t land on the 2013 list. We’re working hard to get new faces from across the globe the recognition they deserve. Deadline for participation is Aug. 2. Just use www.MSPmentor.net/top250 to find the survey.
That’s all for now. Thanks for reading MSPmentor.
Congratulations to Chris
Congratulations to Chris Sterbenc on his new job with Freedom Voice. Having known and worked with Chris at Axcient, I am sure that he will do a great job and Freedom Voice will do fantastic helping partners in the channel succeed.
Joe, enjoy ChannelCon and the precious time with your son. I hope to catch up with you very soon.
