Cisco, CA Partner on Proficiencies for Cloud Partner Program
CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA) announced that its channel partners with CA Automation Suite for Clouds proficiency now also meet the criteria for the Cloud Management Competency Validation criteria for the Cloud Builder designation under Cisco Systems‘ (NASDAQ: CSCO) Cloud Partner program.
The Cisco program validates Cloud Builder competencies in infrastructure, cloud management and professional services, enabling partners to design and implement private and public clouds built on Cisco technology, according to the company.
CA’s Automation Suite for Clouds is an enterprise cloud automation solution designed to help customers more quickly deliver cloud services and is now a qualified certification for which partners can exhibit competency and earn the Cisco Cloud Builder designation.
In March 2012, Talkin’ Cloud reported IDC gave CA Technologies strong marks in the network and infrastructure management market across physical and virtual systems, and IDC appeared to be pointing to such CA Technologies acquisitions as AppLogic and Nimsoft. Also that same week CA announced cloud and managed services provider ScaleMatrix would offer ARCserve, CA’s backup and recovery platform, in its AppLogic-based cloud.
In April we reported the Ingram Micro Cloud planned to offer CA ARCserve and a CA disaster recovery service hosted in Microsoft’s (NASDAQ: MSFT) Windows Azure cloud — a relationship worth tracking for VARs and MSPs.
