Apple iPad Gains ManageEngine IT360 Mobile Software
ManageEngine, the IT management software provider, has developed a mobile app for Apple’s iPad. ManageEngine is expected to demo the app, part of the IT360 management platform, at Mobile World Congress (Feb. 27-March 1, Barcelona).
IT360 is a real-time IT management solution. IT managers and managed services providers traditionally run IT360 on desktops and laptops to ensure network infrastructures run as planned. Now, ManageEngine has developed a mobile interface for IT360 that lets CIOs and IT admins manage their networks from Apple iPads.
“This is about mobile enablement for IT management and about supporting mobile device management (MDM),” ManageEngine President Raj Sabhlok said. “You don’t have to be tethered to your desktop. You can can get same information and image into your environment from anywhere in the world.”
During our conversation, Sabhlok detailed the uptake in mobile device use he’s seen among ManageEngine customers. And while Android use is starting to pick up steam, most ManageEngine customers and partners are using Apple iOS mobile devices, which is why ManageEngine has first released IT360 for the iPad. We can expect broader mobile device support from ManageEngine within the calendar year.
The first version of the IT360 iPad interface includes views into IT infrastructures, alarms and search options. The company says it will include support for company dashboards, SLAs and other “business-critical features” in future versions of the product. ManageEngine will demo the IT360 for the iPad solution at the Mobile World Congress.
