SolarWinds Buys LOGICnow to Join Service Management Solutions Vendors
Software vendor SolarWinds today announced it has purchased LOGICnow, the provider of IT service management solutions for MSPs.
The new combined company will be called SolarWinds MSP.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“SolarWinds is committed to the growing MSP
market and has realized great success through the acquisition of N-able, making the acquisition of LOGICnow a natural next step for us,” said Kevin B. Thompson, president and CEO of SolarWinds.
“SolarWinds MSP, combining the capabilities of LOGICnow and SolarWinds N-able, will offer MSPs a complete set of IT service management solutions via the cloud and on premises delivery models,” he said. “SolarWinds MSP gives them everything they need to acquire and retain profitable clients, deliver outstanding levels of service and maximize their internal efficiency through standardization of their toolsets and the use of automation.”

Within minutes of the announcement, Kaseya CEO Fred Voccola issued his own announcement, criticizing the two companies and their merger.
“What we see with N-able and LogicNow is that their customers typically come to us when their needs scale beyond 500 end points, not only because of the performance limitations of their platform, but more importantly, because they don’t have the automation, policy management and ease-of use required to enable their customer’s staff to operate efficiently,” Voccola said.

The SolarWinds and LOGICnow deal marked the second major deal announced today in the managed services space.
Earlier, Salesforce.com announced a $2.8 billion purchase of e-commerce cloud platform provider Demandware.

Well Fred Voccola doesn’t
Well Fred Voccola doesn’t know what he is talking about. Talk about grasping at straws
The fact that Insight Venture
The fact that Insight Venture Partners is an investor in both Kaseya and LOGICnow, and paid big money to make this acquisition happen leads me to believe that they are betting on LN/Solarwinds rather than what Voccola and his team are doing at Kaseya. He just sounds like a sore loser.
