Making The Shift To Linux Containers In The Cloud. One of the things that CSPs really like about containers is that they consume a lot less IT infrastructure than virtual machines, which is one reason there is a bit of a rush to embrace Docker containers in the cloud. After beta testing nearly 3,000 containers that have been invoked by over 1,000 customers, Kyup (formerly CetClouder) today announced the general availability of cloud hosting services based on Linux containers.
HP Helion Rack: Here’s What You Need to Know. HP has added a new solution to its HP Helion portfolio that could help enterprises with removing the barriers to deploying and managing OpenStack-based private clouds. The cloud computing giant on Tuesday unveiled HP Helion Rack, a private cloud solution based on OpenStack and Cloud Foundry technologies integrated with HP server hardware.
AWS Announces Inaugural Managed Service Partners. Amazon Web Services (AWS) has added the first members of its Managed Service Partner program, a channel-focused initiative that was announced by AWS at re:Invent 2014. AWS Chief Evangelist Jeff Barr, who has been with AWS since 2002, recognized the company’s inaugural Managed Service Partner program participants in a brief blog post this week.
TC 100 Profile: Claris Networks Delivers ‘Worry-Free IT’. Claris Networks is a Knoxville, Tennessee-based CSP that ranked 51 on last year’s Talkin’ Cloud 100 list of the top 100 CSPs. Larry Bodie, Claris’ CEO, attributed his company’s success to employees who are committed to “making IT work” for customers.
