HP Launches Healthcare Alliance Amid HIMSS12
The VAR Guy is noticing more healthcare buzz with HIMSS12 around the corner. HP has launched a new “healthcare affiliate program” uniquely designed to bring HP’s hardware and software in alignment with healthcare-centric ISVs, all while better targeting healthcare professionals. But what’s so fresh about healthcare software? Here’s the pulse…
Streamlining and improving patient care is top of mind for HP; that’s why the healthcare affiliate program is designed to be a best-in-class one-stop-shop approach to finding all your healthcare solutions, whether you’re an end user or HP partner.
The HP Healthcare Alliance program includes many software partners, most of whom will display their wares at HIMSS this year. But the secret sauce on this health-conscious technology is HP’s hardware. HP promises it will deliver “a wide range of hardware and specialized equipment – such as medical carts, digital signage and clinical reference technology,” in conjunction with the Healthcare Alliance software partners previously mentioned.
Everything from HP’s touch-based all-in-one computers, to the more utilitarian HP Slate 2 are being aggressively leveraged by HP’s growing list of ISVs.
Worth noting: This isn’t HP’s first foray into merging business-class hardware with healthcare software. Just recently, HP inked a deal with company CentralLogic, proliferating their healthcare software across HP’s more innovative technologies, like massive touch-based monitors to replace hospital whiteboards. Combine the need for new and innovative software with the use of tablets spreading in through all verticals, and suddenly the healthcare vertical seems like an especially opportunistic market for VARs, ISVs and MSPs.
HIMSS12 won’t call it quits until Feb. 24, so hold on just a little bit longer for continued healthcare related news, coming from yours truly, The VAR Guy.
Great update news!
Using Telehealth is great!! I can see HP at the forefront of producing equipment for online doctors that are looking to provide patient care and improving response time and follow-ups via health IT.
