Managed Services: ADTRAN Partners With Level Platforms, N-able

ADTRAN Inc., which specializes in Ethernet and VoIP hardware, has quietly partnered with Level Platforms and N-able in the managed services market. Here are some quick details.

Based in Huntsville, Alabama, ADRAN positions itself as a lower-cost, highly reliable alternative to Cisco Systems equipment in small and midsize businesses. (Thought it’s important to remember ADTRAN is one-eightieth the size of Cisco.)

ADTRAN sells its enterprise equipment exclusively through channel partners, including VARs and managed service providers (MSPs). And MSPs drive roughly 40 percent of ADTRAN’s US channel revenue, according to Ted Cole, VP of US Channels at ADTRAN.

ADTRAN’s relationships with N-able and Level Platforms involve technical integration efforts. For instance, N-able’s new 6.7 software will auto discover serial numbers and models for ADTRAN equipment, according to an N-able spokeswoman And ADTRAN is a certified partner with Level Platforms.

I’m visiting ADTRAN’s headquarters this week as part of a media and analyst gathering, and I expect to hear far more about ADTRAN’s managed services strategy in the weeks ahead.
