Google Apps Helps Small Ice Cream Company Go SaaS

With all the talk of how the cloud can help even the largest enterprises affordably meet IT needs, it’s easy to forget how useful SaaS can be for even the smallest businesses. In a blog post, Google Apps highlights that aspect with the story of how Oregon-based ice cream company Luna & Larry’s Coconut Bliss uses their cloud collaboration suite. Here’s the scoop -- so to speak.

Where a lot of Google converts wax poetical about how the Apps suite met their security, onboarding, and infrastructure cost saving needs, the IT staff-less Luna & Larry is a lot more straightforward with what they were looking for:

“As we are a growing business with employees often on the road it was important to us that we have secure, easy access to everything no matter where we might be,” Kiley Gwyn, Online Community Manager at Coconut Bliss, is quoted as saying in the Google blog entry.
The point is that while Microsoft and Google both love to tout their biggest cloud wins, complexity isn’t always the selling point that’s needed.
