Twitter Outage: How Do I Tweet that Twitter Is Down?
Twitter has suffered another outage. But there’s no way to tweet about it. Is that cruel and unusual social media punishment? Ironically, The VAR Guy’s own cloud service provider earlier today went dark for a bit. And our resident blogger’s email system also crashed today. Is this the end of the world as we know it — or the perfect chance to power down the old laptop and read something called a “print” magazine? Hmmm…
Sorry, but The VAR Guy has given up on magazines. Our resident blogger grew up in the IT magazine business in the 1990s. Boy did he look forward to reading PCWeek, InformationWeek, CommunicationWeek, NetworkWorld ComputerWorld, InfoWorld and every other “IT news weekly” each Monday — from about 1992 through about 2002.
But our resident blogger hasn’t seen or read an print IT magazine in more than four years. Feel free to tweet that factoid to your followers — if only Twitter was working.
Heck, at least we have FaceBook (earnings results later today, folks!) and LinkedIn to keep us all busy. Or maybe it’s time for a Yelp restaurant search. Either way, you can have The VAR Guy’s laptop and broadband connection when you pry them from his cold, dead blogging fingers.
(P.S.: Twitter… are you back? Are you?)
You mean that isn’t in your Business Continuity Plan?
Martin: Starbucks WiFi is The VAR Guy’s Business Continuity Plan… Tongue in cheek, of course.
