Secure-24: Hosting Specialist Bolsters SAP Cloud Services
SAP continues to promote Business ByDesign, a SaaS platform, to channel partners. But the software giant also works with a growing list of hosting partners that promote SAP applications in the cloud. The latest example involves Secure-24, which is now an SAP-certified provider of cloud services.
According to a prepared statement from Secure-24:
“As an SAP-certified provider of cloud services, Secure-24 will provide mid-market companies and enterprises that operate globally with a cost-effective, on-demand cloud-based delivery model for mission-critical SAP applications.
George Surface, vice president, SAP Services at Secure-24, is overseeing the effort. In addition to the SAP relationship, Secure-24 also works closely with Cisco, EMC and VMware.
As of May 2010, SAP had roughly 19 hosting partners in North America. Such partnerships are critical as SAP attempts to compete more effectively against pure cloud ERP and CRM providers such as Salesforce.com and NetSuite, and Microsoft’s new Dynamics CRM Online.
No doubt, SAP remains in channel growth mode. Despite the recent departure of former Channel Chief Pat Hume, SAP continues to expand its channel team and bolster channel sales. SAP also claims to have partner momentum with its own SaaS platform, called Business ByDesign. However, SAP has not disclosed actual customer figures or revenue figures for that SaaS offering.
