RiverMeadow Offers Free Migrations to vCloud-Powered Service Providers
Participating services providers will get 50 free migrations from RiverMeadow, the company said.
RiverMeadow Marketing Vice President Scott Colgan told Talkin’ Cloud that vCloud-powered service providers “can use the migrations anyway they like, internal or incentive.”
“At the end of the day, RiverMeadow’s goal is to fuel their business,” he said.
The program was designed to make migrations easier for vCloud-powered service providers.
In cloud migrations, businesses must be able “to deliver workload interoperability, or mobility, so as to remove what has become known as vendor lock-in from the equation, and doing it so that you are not wrappering the workload,” Colgan said.
“At RiverMeadow, we image and convert to deploy as a fully interoperable workload regardless of target cloud OS, though we are fully supporting and behind migration into VMware, their vCloud Hybrid Service and their VSPP channel,” he added.
RiverMeadow, a VMware partner since April 2012, promotes vCloud as a platform that’s easy to do business with and utilize as a private/public and ultimately hybrid cloud, Colgan said.
“This is a program that’s unique to our joint relationship,” he said. “RiverMeadow believes in VMware’s value and future in the market.”
