PEER 1 Hosting and TwinStrata Partner For Cloud Storage
PEER 1 Hosting is an international cloud and other hosting service provider that’s been trying to build out their presence in the IT channel. TwinStrata sells virtual appliances aimed at helping enterprises of all sizes use iSCSI to get the best of storage in the cloud and on-premises. Thanks to a newly-formed partnership, PEER 1 Hosting and TwinStrata may both get what they want as they join forces for enterprise cloud storage.
TwinStrata, which only yesterday had its partner status with PEER 1 locked in, plans on integrating their CloudArray 2.0 virtual appliance with the PEER 1 CloudOne Storage platform, according to the press release. CloudOne Storage joins esteemed company like Amazon S3 and AT&T Synaptic storage as supported platforms. And the iSCSI protocol is more-or-less proven to help consolidate Microsoft application data for storage, if nothing else.
And for PEER 1, working with TwinStrata ensures the growth of their storage partner programs. TwinStrata CloudArray is fully available to cloud VARs and resellers, which in turn increases PEER 1’s potential customer base. It’s all part of what looks like a master plan on behalf of PEER 1 Hosting to build their relationships with MSPs and VARs.
One last note: this isn’t the first vendor TalkinCloud’s heard from in 2011 claiming to combine the best of on- and off-premises storage. Is that the marketing buzz of note for the year? Keep watching for updates.
