Hosted ConnectWise Restored
As of 10:30 a.m. eastern on Oct. 28, ConnectWise has restored service to 198 partners impacted by a Hosted ConnectWise outage, according to CEO Arnie Bellini. MSPmentor posted chatter about the outage on Oct. 27. Readers weighed in and Bellini posted an apology. So, what’s next?
First, MSPmentor’s own original headline overstated the issue. Our headline suggested the
“ConnectWise Cloud” was dark. In broader context, 198 of ConnectWise’s 30,000 partners 3,000 customers and 30,000 users were impacted. It’s never good to have an outage, but MSPmentor should have kept it in context.
Next, I hope to hear what actually went wrong — what specifically caused the failure? Bellini has stated that ConnectWise’s virtualized cloud remains sound; the failure was outside of the cloud; the outage involved 198 hosted partners that had not yet been moved into the virtualized cloud environment. Still, was there a specific issue that ConnectWise can pinpoint for the failure? I hope to hear more.
