Cloud-based file sync and share service company Egnyte on Friday was busy tackling a network-related outage within its own East Coast data center.
The company tweeted about the outage from one of its Twitter accounts today at 11:49 a.m. ET: “We are chasing a network issue at our East Coast datacenter and will post another update.”
At 12:16 p.m. ET, Egnyte tweeted: “We are still working in the issue. Access may be intermittent for some East Coast customers.”
An Egnyte spokesperson informed Talkin’ Cloud that there was an network-related outage in the company’s East Coast data center, “which was effecting services intermittently.”
“Once the problem was identified, we worked with our NOC engineers and it was rectified immediately,” the spokesperson said.
Egnyte informed its Twitter followers at 12:48 p.m. ET that “Service is back up. Please report any issues at http://helpdesk.egnyte.com. We will provide an incident report shortly.”
Egnyte has three data centers in total: two in the United States (one on the West Coast and one on the East Coast) and one in Europe.
The spokesperson said the company “can assure that only our East Coast customers experienced the difficulties,” adding that “not every East Coast customer was affected.”
The company plans to post an incident report to its help desk within the next 24 hours.
Over the past few month, Egnyte has been working to double its channel presence. For instance, the company expanded its operations in February to meet customer demand, scoop up new talent and leverage growing markets.
