Cloud security software company Skyhigh Networks today announced an integration with Palo Alto Networks (PANW) to deliver “data visibility, security and governance capabilities for software-as-a-service-based (SaaS-based) applications operating within the public cloud.”
The new integrated solution incorporates risk-based policies generated by Skyhigh Discover and Analyze and enforced through the Palo Alto Networks enterprise security platform to give users greater control over more than 7,000 cloud applications.
“We are committed to ensuring that our customers are able to leverage their existing investments in firewalls to manage security policies across 7,000+ cloud applications,” Chris Cesio, Skyhigh’s vice president of business development and alliances, said in a prepared statement. “We are excited to align with Palo Alto Networks to combine the power of market-leading next-generation firewalls with Skyhigh’s ground-breaking cloud access security broker capabilities for the benefit of our mutual customers.”
Skyhigh Analyze is designed to help enterprises identify security breaches and insider threats and analyze usage patterns to understand demand for cloud services, while Discover provides details about the business, data and legal risks of each service.
The new integration, meanwhile, leverages both Skyhigh Analyze and Discover with the Palo Alto Networks enterprise security platform to provide:
Cloud Audit Trail
Granular access control policies
Palo Alto Networks Panorama
Visibility into all SaaS traffic
“Both companies are committed to working together to help our customers enable and accelerate the secure adoption of cloud services. Customers can now ‘leverage’ their existing [investments] and achieve immediate visibility and control over cloud services,” a Skyhigh spokesperson told Talkin’ Cloud.
Sky’s the limit for Skyhigh
The Skyhigh-Palo Alto Networks integration represents another step forward in Skyhigh’s mission to bolster its presence in the cloud security market.
Skyhigh also added $40 million in Series C funds in June to increase its total capital raised to $66.5 million. The company noted at the time that it planned to invest these funds in its Analyze, Discover and Secure solutions.
Rajiv Gupta, Skyhigh’s CEO, said in June that his company is focused on product innovation and international expansion, which is reflected in its new integration with Palo Alto Networks as well.
“At Skyhigh, we are laser-focused on helping CIOs and CISOs enable the adoption of cloud services that empower employees and drive productivity and business innovation while addressing their security, compliance and governance requirements,” he said in a prepared statement.
