Mitel (MITL) introduced a new unified communications-as-a-service (UCaaS) offering at Enterprise Connect in Orlando. The MiCloud Enterprise UCaaS offering is being rolled out through Mitel’s channel partners as a white-label solution partners can integrate into their own host of cloud and other services options.
According to Mitel, it already has much interest from the channel, including from partners Blue Violet Networks, Core Technologies, Eon Networks, Fulton Communications, JEM Communications, Qbase, Towner Communications Systems, Transwest and TSI Global Companies.
“Mitel is helping our partners capitalize on the industry shift toward cloud-based business communications with MiCloud Enterprise UCaaS. For many channel partners, this solution is their bridge to being able to deploy and support their own cloud service while creating recurring revenue streams and providing their customers attractive services for business communications in the cloud,” said Jon Brinton, executive vice president and general manager of Mitel Cloud Services, in a prepared statement.
Particularly in the last year, Mitel has been pushing more and more into the cloud services space. The company bought enterprise communications firm Aastra in November 2013 to boost its cloud offerings, but even before that, Mitel was setting the stage for a larger presence in the cloud space. The company partnered with Vidyo on cloud-based telepresence and also started simplifying its product names to align with its strategic direction.
With the launch of MiCloud Enterprise UCaaS into the channel, Mitel is taking another big step into the cloud market, and it’s enabling its partners. Built on Mitel’s software-based, cloud-optimized business communications products, the new offering can be deployed on public, private or hybrid cloud environments, to increase partners’ flexibility while also decreasing overall complexity. According to Mitel, it enables partners to provide more flexible cloud options to their end customers.
