NetApp Launches FAS2200 Storage Solution, Channel Programs
There’s always a need for more storage space these days, especially with Big Data, social media content and other files hogging all the room. This goes double for mid-size businesses, who struggle with limited IT resources and budgets.
To remedy this, storage and data management specialist NetApp launched the FAS2200, which is priced under $8,000 and represents the latest member of its entry-level product portfolio. The FAS2200 includes the company’s Flash Pools technology for application acceleration, as well as OnCommand System Manager 2.1, which helps organizations simplify, control, and automate setup and ongoing management of NetApp storage.
The series runs on the latest version of the Data ONTAP operating system, a scalable architecture that allows businesses to add storage as required by their business needs.
NetApp Channel Partner Program
NetApp also expanded its ecosystem of channel partners, along with channel enablement programs. The GetSuccessful Cloud Services Program provides reseller partners with support and connects them with NetApp’s ecosystem of cloud service providers, while additional programs, promotions, and financing offers provided by the company have been set up to help resellers offer the FAS2200 as a replacement for legacy storage systems.
Nearly three quarters of all midsize businesses will increase expenditures on cloud services in 2012, according to a recent Enterprise Storage Group survey—VARs who can position themselves in the storage (and importantly, data management) markets will see their business grow on pace with the mounting pile of data that needs somewhere to sit.
