InfoStreet StreetSmart Meeting: Free Conference Calls and Meetings?
InfoStreet, a SaaS company, will be offering a free conference calling and calendaring service for everyone coming June 8. It’s called ‘StreetSmart Meeting’ but is this really anything new? Read on for details…
StreetSmart Meeting, wrought out of the popularity of conference calls and virtual meetings, saw the need to offer a service that allows for calls to take place anytime for free, from any location. StreetSmart Meeting offers permanent conference call numbers, essentially allowing a caller to dial one number to reach multiple people.
StreetSmart also provides a calendar tool to generate traditional invites and reminders, while also providing call recording storage for up to 90 days at no charge. InfoStreet stresses that StreetSmart is secure, and provides a quality connection. Some key features include instant activation (i.e. no long registration forms), 24/7 availability, easy numbers and access codes, bridging on the fly, dedicated dial in numbers and invites via Outlook.
Here’s the biggest problem InfoStreet will be having with StreetSmart Meeting — at least in my personal opinion. This has been done already, and not just once, but nearly one hundred times over. Just look at this Google search I did for free conference calling. Nearly all the same features that InfoStreet is offering are available, too.
InfoStreet’s forte seems to be SMB communication software, but one wonders why a company focused on SaaS for the SMB would take up the burden of offering a free conferencing calling service.
