IT teams are hungry for analytics on their networks.

Kentik, the network traffic intelligence provider, has made its channel partner program official.

The San Francisco-based company says that 20 channel partners have signed with the program. Kentik’s products will give them deeper analytics on their customers’ network performance and security. Jim Frey, Kentik’s vice president of strategic alliances, says network traffic is continually growing thanks to cloud adoption, Internet of Things and other digital trends.
“The potential business and operational intelligence from that traffic is immensely valuable, but legacy tools are overwhelmed by the volume and essentially blind to traffic beyond the border,” Frey said. “Kentik’s network traffic intelligence platform was built for modern networks using the latest technologies, including big data, SaaS and streaming analytics. No other platform can match Kentik Detect’s capabilities, which is why we’re launching our channel program on a global scale, to better address worldwide demand for our solutions.”
The program includes “advocate” partners, typically including sales agents and consultants that introduce Kentik to customers, and “reseller” partners that take direct orders from customers. Both categories get training, sales and marketing support from Kentik.
Andrew Fisher, CEO of Myriad Supply, says his company joined the program because customers are demanding new solutions to solve infrastructure problems.

Some of Kentik’s solutions are a big-data platform, DDoS protection and network planning. John McKerracher, president of Canad-based partner Edgeworx, says the company’s overall platform is a good fit.
“At Edgeworx, we’ve always said ‘you can’t manage what you can’t see.’ We built our business to help organizations gain visibility within their infrastructure and applications through performance, scalability, and security posture,” McKerracher said.
Network visibility is one of the main security problems IT teams face. A Forrester study found that IT pros struggle to see what’s going on in their cloud infrastructures.
