Verizon, VMware Renew Partnership to Resell EMM Solutions

Verizon and VMware have entered into a new reseller agreement that covers mobile security and enterprise mobility management solutions.

Verizon Enterprise Solutions and VMware (VMW) have expanded their strategic relationship by entering into a new reseller agreement that covers mobile security and enterprise mobility management solutions.

Announced this week, the renewed partnership between the two companies allows Verizon to resell the AirWatch by VMware Enterprise Mobility Management Platform as part of its mobile device management portfolio (MDM) for on-premise deployments.

Verizon said the agreement provides its enterprise customers with an enterprise mobility management platform combined with end point security and telecom analytics; content collaboration solutions that for users and security for IT professionals; and desktop virtualization, image management and bring your own PC solutions.

VMware End-User Computing Executive Vice President and General Manager Sanjay Poonen said in a statement that this relationship with bring end-user computing solutions closer to customers.

“From desktop to laptop to tablet to phone to the Internet of things, VMware brings the software solutions that allow end-users’ device, apps, content to be securely managed, and served-up as if in an extended pane of glass, or virtual workspace,” he said.

On-premise instances of AirWatch are now available to Verizon’s U.S. enterprises customers.

AirWatch by VMware Senior Vice President and General Manager John Marshall told MSPmentor this week that some customers are now viewing mobility management through a new lens.

VMware, a Palo Alto, California-based virtualization software technology company, acquired AirWatch in January for approximately $1.54 billion.
