confirmedPanda Security and CentraStage have confirmed a cloud-based RMM (remote monitoring and management) business relationship that MSPmentor uncovered last week. The two companies are working closely together to provide “top notch cloud-based systems management solutions” to small and midsize enterprises, channel partners and some enterprise verticals. The Panda-CentraStage relationship further blurs the line between remote monitoring and managed security services, two cornerstones of the MSP industry.
According to a Panda Security statement sent to MSPmentor:
“Panda Security believes in the advantages of converged cloud-based security and operational functions, especially for SMEs, channel partners, and some enterprises verticals with highly distributed environments. It is a logical convergence and fit for these markets. With the launch of Panda Cloud Systems Management, Panda is enhancing its cloud-based portfolio. We are closely working with CentraStage to provide top notch cloud-based systems management solutions globally and exploit the great opportunities for synergies that exist within our product portfolios, and that’s where we want to focus our resources.”
A separate statement from CentraStage CEO Christian Nagele to MSPmentor stated:
“I can confirm that we have a strategic partnership with Panda. RMM is a great fit with their existing portfolio of cloud-based offerings, and the relationship marks an exciting new chapter for CentraStage which will see our technology footprint greatly accelerate given Panda¹s global reach.”
The Panda-CentraStage relationship surfaces as many security-related software companies plug their solutions into PSA (professional services automation) and/or RMM (remote monitoring and management) platforms. Panda also had a security relationship with N-able Technologies, another well-known RMM company, but it appears that deal will fade away as N-able continues to work with a range of OEMs (original equipment manufacturers).
CentraStage, based in Europe, has caught on with MSPs and schools in the UK, among other verticals. The Panda relationship will likely allow CentraStage to expand its footprint globally, while also continuing to leverage Amazon Web Services to extend into new countries.
Panda Security, meanwhile, has had a good following among MSPs. But security companies will face increased competition from IT giants (McAfee/Intel, Symantec, etc.) moving into the MSP market as well as cloud-based systems that sometimes eliminate the need for third-party security add-ons (example: Microsoft Office 365).
