Flash storage platform vendor Violin Memory has appointed Amy Love as its chief marketing officer, responsible for overseeing worldwide marketing strategy and activities. She takes the reins from Eric Herzog, who left in February to take the VP of Marketing slot at IBM (IBM).
Love holds more than 20 years of experience in marketing, demand generation and communications experiences and was formerly the vice president of Global Brand and Demand Generation, acting CMO and vice president of Brand and Communications at NetApp, according to the announcement. She also served as a partner for Silicon Valley consulting firm BizEthos.
“Amy’s proven experience driving compelling marketing strategies, partnerships and innovative programs for meaningful B2B and B2C brands is an invaluable addition to our team and growth opportunity,” said Kevin DeNuccio, president and CEO at Violin Memory, in a statement. “The expertise and insight she brings will help to expand our global marketing reach and further strengthen Violin’s leadership position in the IT and flash storage market.”
Love will also use her marketing experience to help elevate market awareness and executive familiarity for Violin Memory. She will report directly to Kevin DiNuccio in her new position.
“It’s a marketer’s dream to have a significant technology advantage and a fundamental market shift and disruption occurring at the same time,” said Love. “I am honored to lead Violin’s strategy to bring global market and customer awareness to the company’s best-in-class all flash solutions that deliver superior performance, including scalability and reliability, at price points that allow customers to deploy next generation all flash data centers today.”
Earlier this month, Violin announced a partnership with Arrow Electronics (ARW) to allow the distributor to provide its solution portfolio to North American resellers. The agreement is similar to the one Violin finalized with Arrow earlier this year for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
