Salesforce.com (CRM) has reached two million Salesforce AppExchange installs, continuing the marketplace’s momentum into the fourth quarter.

Salesforce AppExchange and Partner Operations Vice President Leyla Seka made the announcement today on the company’s blog, thanking both customers and partners for their contributions to the marketplace:

“We thank our customers. Their vision inspires us, and they feed our relentless focus on delivering the ultimate drive-thru for business success. Not only have they made AppExchange their first stop for addressing business challenges, but their ongoing feedback has also fueled this community to make it stronger every day.

“We thank our partners, and celebrate this milestone with them. We merely paved a path for them to continuously innovate by removing the barriers of managing hardware and software. They’re the ones who drove through it to build and deliver solutions our customers trust and rely upon every single day.”

Seka said it took Salesforce more than six years to reach one million installs, but took only two years to double that number.

AppExchange Director of Marketing Sara Varni told Talkin’ Cloud back in July 2013 that the company stays with AppExchange partners during each step of the app process, including categorizing the app in AppExchange, calculating app pricing and providing ongoing insight on how an app can improve after it has gone to market.

Salesforce completed its acquisition of cloud marketing platform company ExactTarget (ET) back in July 2013, gaining the platform’s technology as well as 6,000 customers, including Coca-Cola and Nike.
