Microsoft made significant updates around two upcoming products.
First Microsoft made its Windows 365 Cloud PC service live after receiving more requests for trial accounts than it could handle. Then Microsoft announced its plan to release Windows 11, its latest operating system, on Oct. 5.

Nvidia made its new artifical intelligence workload software now functions on VMware vSphere Servers.
Nvidia and VMware have already been partnering together to run Nvidia AI Enterprise, which utilizes VMware clusters. The chipset and software provider has since announced new tools and modeling frameworks for AI Enterprise.

The fiber provider expanded its footprint.
Ziply, which came into existence after buying Frontier’s Northwest operations, expanded its fiber reach to 52 to markets. The company recently announced its plan to enter 14 new markets in Washington and Oregon this year.

Customers can now connect all VMware Horizon Control Plane services to Microsoft Azure.
VMware launched the services two years ago, but before the latest announcement only two services worked in Azure VMware. Each of them were available in on-premise data centers.

Avaya announced native integrations with Microsoft Azure
First, the Avaya OneCloud CPaaS now includes the voice, video, chat and text features of Microsoft Azure Communication Services. In addition, Avaya’s OneCloud CCaaS offering integrates with both Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
These changes fall underneath the companies’ joint strategy to co-sell globally.

Verizon officially launched its private 5G edge computing solution.
Verizon and Microsoft had already partnered around 5G edge solutions, and they had been running a trial with a customer, but they made the premises-based Verizon 5G Edge with Microsoft Azure Stack Edge solution is now widely available.
The non-standalone private mobile network helps customers with real-time storage and computing challenges.

Windstream Enterprise added cellular broadband as an access option for SD-WAN.
The carrier announced Unlimited Cellular Broadband, a managed service that helps customers mitigate network outages. It comes in three different data plans and can function as a primary connectivity option or a secondary SD-WAN connection.

Don’t forget the traditional distis, who signed their fair share of supplier agreements last month.
For example, Synnex expanded its UCaaS portfolio with 8×8. Moreover, Synnex will be selling Nextiva’s cloud communications in a commission-based model.

For example, tech service distributors TBI, Jenne and OTG Consulting added new suppliers. Jenne teamed with Zoom, OTG teamed with UCaaS provider Crexendo and TBI teamed with a next-gen AI design firm.

IBM and Zscaler are working together on developing secure access service edge (SASE) offerings.
IBM unveiled a new program that offers consulting, design and managed services for SASE. It harnesses Zscaler’s zero-trust network access (ZTNA) to help meet requirements for hybrid workforces.
“This new approach requires a shift in culture, processes and collaboration across teams alongside a new technology architecture,” IBM Security General Manageer Mary O’Brien said.

Lumen Technologies announced a fully managed IaaS offering.
Lumen Edge Private Cloud utilizes VMware technology and caters to 2,200 third-party data centers in the world. Lumen provides design, implementation and management around the offering.
As a result, customers can quickly spin up a customized private cloud environment.

BCN gave partners and customers an additional option for plain old telephone service (POTS) replacement through a partnership with Cox Business.
BCN’s portfolio now features Cox Voice Service. BCN’s president called it a “cost-effective, IP-based answer for traditional telecom applications.”

The cybersecurity provider unveiled a new extended endpoint detection and response (XDR) platform.
FireEye is making XDR is flagship offering as it splits from Mandiant. The divestiture separates FireEye’s product business from Mandiant’s controls-agnostic software and services. An agreement between both companies will allow their respective partners to resell the other party’s offerings.

Coupa Software introduced an App Marketplace.
Coupa, which provides business spend management, provides pre-built solutions through the marketplace. IT is recruiting ISVs who help custoemrs with tax compliance, supplier communication and a “holistic view.”

Hitachi Vantara launched the Lumada DataOps Suite, which helps customers leverage their data.
The new suite changes data analytics in a variety of ways, from making it more accessible to more users and removing bottlenecks.

Spectrum Enterprise launched a new unified communications solution.
UC with Webex allows employees to collaborate from any device across the nation. That makes it appealing to the increasingly hybrid workforce, Spectrum’s Michelle Kadlacek said.
On the other hand, Cisco Collaboration’s senior vice president and general manager of said Cisco WebEx works best when run on a network like that of Spectrum.

Axcient expanded its one of its disaster recovery solutions.
The vendor added Local Cache to x360Recover Direct-to-Cloud offering. As a result, MSPs can accelerate the speed of the disaster recovery process and not have to face as much downtime.
