Intel Partners With Symantec For Backup Exec 2010
Even as Intel acquires McAfee, the chip giant continues to partner with McAfee rivals like Symantec. The latest Intel-Symantec deal deal brings with it Backup Exec 2010 to system builder partners. Here’s a look at the relationship.
Symantec Backup Exec 2010 will now be in the hands of system builder partners via Intel’s network of Authorized Distributors in North America. All of this falls under the Intel Enabled Solutions Acceleration Alliance (ESAA) program. Intel is positioning this for system builders to offer competitive server offerings in the market.
The Backup Exec 2010 SKUs support Microsoft Windows, Small Business Server, Exchange, SQL Server, Hyper-V, VMware vSphere and deduplication. The ESAA program is offering “34 pre tested recipes” to help with implementation and speed to market. In addition, Intel channel customers can pick nine different Backup Exec 2010 SKUs that have been tested in Intel Server Board systems and comes bundled with 24×7 support for one year.
