Distribution Watch: Ingram Micro, Arrow, Tech Data
Happy Friday, and thanks for tuning into Distribution Watch, our weekly collection of distribution-related news. This week we’ll be taking a look at news from Ingram Micro (NYSE: IM), Arrow Electronics (NYSE: ARW) and Tech Data (NASDAQ: TECD), so grab a cup of tea and get comfortable.
Ingram Micro: The global distributor is now featuring Juniper Networks’ (NYSE: JNPR) integrated portfolio of Simply Connected switching, security and wireless products in its East and West Coast Solution Centers. Additionally, Ingram Micro is now offering Juniper’s channel partners configure-to-order (CTO) services for select Juniper Networks MX Series 3D universal edge routers, which include the MX5, MX10, MX40 and MX80.
Ingram Micro opened its East and West Coast Solution Centers to help channel partners gain a greater understanding of select vendors’ product sets and multivendor solutions and service for training, demonstration and proof-of-concept purposes. As part of the expanded distribution relationship, a wide variety of products from the Juniper Networks Simply Connected portfolio will be demonstrated in both centers, with room for additional data center-focused technologies and future innovations, according to the distributor.
Arrow Electronics: Speaking of Juniper, Arrow said it plans to offer QFabric Architecture for IBM Flex System, which combines IBM‘s (NYSE: IBM) Flex System and Juniper’s QFabric technology. According to Arrow, the bundle will help customers easily manage virtualization demands driven by today’s Big Data initiatives that require integrated server and storage.
Initially available in the United States through Arrow’s Enterprise Computing Solutions segment, the Juniper Networks QFabric Architecture for the IBM Flex Systems has been tested and integrated into a single part number.
Tech Data: And speaking of IBM, Tech Data announced it is now offering IBM’s portfolio of products and services, including Power Systems and enterprise-class storage, through its Advanced Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) Division.
Available to authorized IBM Business Partners in the United States, the IBM Power Systems family is comprised of servers, systems software and solutions featuring the latest IBM POWER7 and POWER7+ processor technology. Designed for compute intensive workloads and ideally suited for business analytics, Power Systems can provide capabilities to help gain real time business insight and competitive advantage within a secure, flexible and scalable environment.
