Tom Tauke, senior vice president for public policy and

Dont Call Us, Well Call You
Only three days after the introduction of DoNotCall.gov, 46
percent of consumers who were aware of the FTCs National Do Not Call Registry
already had signed up for the service, according to a survey of 300 consumers
conducted by InsightExpress, a professional online research firm.
Of those who were unaware of the registry and were advised of
the service, more than three quarters (76 percent) said they were likely to
register. And, if these respondents had their way, the initiative would not stop
with the telephone more than eight in 10 (83 percent) said they would like
to see a similar government-sponsored program to prevent unsolicited e-mails.
