Mobile Solutions, a SaaS company, just tapped Greg Plum, previously with Brandywine Technology, as its first channel chief.

Plum brings extensive experience to the company, which includes marketing, business development, education and management roles. He has worked in numerous markets such as banking, telecommunications, IT and software services.

Plum said he’s impressed with the caliber of partners that have signed on to offer Mobile Solutions’ services.

“At this point, we need to focus on clarifying our value proposition, differentiating our offering and streamlining the fulfillment process,” he said. “It’s now time to work closely with our newly signed partners and execute the strategy that has been initiated by the Mobile Solutions executive team.”

Channel Experience

Plum built channel sales programs from scratch for three technology companies. That includes StartMeeting.com, a premium FreeConferenceCall.com brand.

Plum served as a CompTIA faculty member and was a founding member of its telecom advisory council. It spearheaded commercializing the convergence of voice and data technologies in the wake of IP technology adoption.

Here’s our list of channel people on the move in June.

Plum is still active with CompTIA, on its emerging technology framework committee. He also is a community leader with the Cloud Software Association.

“My first priority is working with our current partners to identify the mobility challenges their customers are facing, and creating a delivery strategy that fits our partners’ business model, while meeting or exceeding their customers’ needs,” Plum said. “We also plan to double down on the IT channel, focusing on managed service providers looking to help their customers with a comprehensive mobile security offering.”

Partners are consistently challenged to prove their value to their customers, he said.

“In a mobile-first world, we can help our partners solidify their role as an essential resource for their customers by providing mobility expertise,” Plum said.

With Max, the SaaS company’s cloud-based portal, clients manage mobility through one technology interface, providing KPIs and business intelligence.

Michael Sterl is Mobile Solutions’ president. He is excited for what’s ahead.

“Greg and I have worked in the same industry for many years,” said Sterl. “And he brings dedication and hard work to the role. “Our skill sets complement one another and I look forward to building an industry-leading channel program with him. This is an exciting new chapter for Mobile Solutions, empowering our partners with the solutions they need in a mobile-first world.”
