Zayo Group now operates 21 colocation facilities throughout the country thanks to its newly announced acquisition of Core NAP in Austin, Texas.

The deal was finalized on May 31. Zayo said it chose Core NAP for its location in a thriving technology community, its proximity to other major markets and its low risk for most natural disasters.

Core NAP is a Tier 3 facility offering carrier-neutral colocation. The company brought 220 customers to Zayo, as well as five major carriers that provide services to cloud, enterprise, financial, carrier, media and other customers. Colo NAP measures 15,000 square feet, and features private cages and cabinets.

Colo NAP marks Zayo’s first data center in the Texas area. Zayo provisions bandwidth infrastructure including dark fiber, wavelengths, Ethernet and IP.
