United Network Services Inc. (UNSi) (Booth #620) said on Wednesday it has completed a series of network upgrades in the Western and Midwestern United States.

The carrier expanded its Dallas, Denver and St. Louis, Mo., PoPs into full border gateway interconnects, which means each facility now accommodates MPLS, VPLS, DIA and carrier Ethernet services. UNSi also expanded its 10GB backbone into seven major carrier hotels in New York City.

Our continued investment in our MPLS and Ethernet capabilities is all part of the exciting growth strategy we have implemented and are experiencing at UNSi,” said Fran John, president and CEO of UNSi. 2012 has been a formative year for us; as our brand awareness increases, so has our customer base and our network reach. These exciting developments in the Midwest demonstrate our commitment to our customers in these areas and are a key component in being able to deliver our services cost-effectively.”

UNSi now boasts 18 PoPs throughout the United States, more than 150 NNIs and agreements with nearly 2,000 network providers.
