AppSmart earned a major award in the wake of another acquisition.

Telesystem named the B2B technology marketplace company its master agent of the year. The recognition honors AppSmart for earning the most recurring revenue in 2020.

AppSmart last month announced its acquisition of Georgia-based master agent MicroCorp. The purchase brought AppSmart’s total of acquired master agents to four: MicroCorp, Converged Network Services Group (CNSG), Telegration and WTG.

Bruce Wirt, Telesystem’s executive vice president and chief business development officer, praised the leaders who have come together under the AppSmart umbrella.

“It’s really easy to drive business together when you have some of the best collective minds in business all in one place,” Wirt said. “Tim Basa [Telegration], Matt Harty [CNSG] and Karin Fields [MicroCorp] have all been tremendous business partners under their legacy brands over the five years I’ve been at Telesystem; to have them all under the same umbrella with an aligned message will lead to an even better 2021.

Tim Basa, AppSmart’s vice president of sales and operations, said the company’s agents have praised Telesystem’s expertise and commitment.

“AppSmart technology advisers have grown to trust Telesystem’s robust national network, comprehensive product portfolio, and their ability to tailor complete solutions to exceed the expectations of their multilocation clients,” Basa said. “We’ve seen success in nearly every vertical, from health care to retail, to manufacturing and education.

Legacy Partners

Wirt and Telesystem channel strategy manager Mayka Rosales-Peterson congratulated MicroCorp CEO Karin Fields and Matt Harty, AppSmart’s vice president and general manager of business communications services, in a video.

Wirt said AppSmart’s acquisition of the various master agents has given partners more power. Each of these master agents partnered with Telesystem before the consolidation.

“If you look at Telegration, MicroCorp and CNSG separately, we’re not having this conversation,” Wirt said in the video. “But the power of this companies coming together produced this award.”

Fields said AppSmart and MicroCorp view the future of technology sales in a similar way. That’s why she said she chose AppSmart over other suitors.

“We’ve been approached by numerous organizations: private equity, peers, other groups. Every time, I kept coming back to AppSmart, because I felt like their core foundation and values are exactly like MicroCorp’s,” she said.

Telesystem has committed to strengthening and simplifying its agent channel footprint in recent years. The company has added more field resources for agents and introduced new account executives to assist agents on a regional basis.
