Thirty-one members of the Technology Channel Association (TCA) are newly certified through the association’s Certified Telecommunications Professional (CTP) program, which the TCA describes as the first industry trade association-sponsored certification program designed to educate technical expertise in representing indirect sales agents.

The newest members to become certified are: Darren DeMartino of Advanced Technology Consulting Inc.; Scott Berg, Mike Dutcher and Chance Watson of Aligned Communications; Carlos Pickett of Bridge Consulting.net; Lance Akins of Crossvergence; Marvin McCarthy of Datatel Solutions; Gina Giorgi Cece of Gateway Global Communications; William A. Quaglia of InTheCloudTechnology.Com; Sam Bowers and Brad Johnson of Lynde Consulting; Braun Mincher of PCG Consulting Group Inc.; Summer Frazier, Scarlett Harris, Ninos Ibrahim, Keith Jones, Marco A. Sanchez and Jonathan Thomas of TBI; Stacie Best, Ciera DelaCasas, Adam Edwards, Seth Ferguson, Mike Gottwalt, Angela Hefner, Austin Holverson, Jessica Martin, Patrick Oborn, Daniel Smith and Justin Tugg of Telarus Inc.; John Perry of Telogical; and Michael Coheb of vPOP Networks.

Candidates must be TCA members before applying to the CTP program. To become certified, they must pass a relatively technical exam that measures proficiency in various telecom industry categories that include voice communications, industry history, Internet applications, telecommunications administration, core telecommunications concepts, data communications, network security/management and agent business best practices.

TCA reports that 10 more companies have adopted its CTP program as their core standard training program.

"There are now 141 CTP-certified members who value the training program and use it to enhance their overall knowledge of the industry, said TCA President Jeff Ponts, who is also executive vice president of Datatel Solutions. "Obtaining the certification through our program builds confidence in their field of expertise and, in return, leads to the overall growth of the indirect channel."
