Ingram Micro Seismic Global NOC Gains Momentum

Anecdotal evidence suggests Ingram Micro Seismic‘s Global NOC has quickly gained critical mass with VARs and managed service providers. The Global NOC, launched in partnership with NetEnrich, has attracted more than 200 VARs. But I get the sense that more Global NOC news is just around the corner. Here’s why.

First, a little background on the Global NOC. According to the original Ingram-NetEnrich press release, the Global NOC:

“provides 24/7 remote infrastructure management services to VARs allowing them to create their own Managed Service Provider (MSP) practice. The service will free VARs from the day-to-day monitoring and maintenance of their customers’ IT infrastructure and allow them to focus on higher margin activities while serving more customers. The VARs’ customers will see benefits provided by the 24/7 monitoring and preventative maintenance in the form of more reliable IT systems and lower total cost of ownership.”

Justin Crotty, VP of Ingram Micro Services, says the Global NOC has officially attracted more than 200 VARs — but the estimate sounds somewhat low to me. Sources close to Ingram say the NOC is rapidly marching toward 300 VARs and MSPs.

The other big winner is NetEnrich, which spent much of 2008 trying to figure out its place in the managed services industry. When the Ingram partnership launched in June 2009, MSPmentor noted that it was a second chance for NetEnrich to make a first impression with MSPs. So far, the move seems to be working.

Still, Ingram and NetEnrich aren’t resting on their laurels. Keep an eye on next week’s Ingram Micro VTN event in Denver, Colo. Through its various Twitter feeds, Ingram is hinting that some NOC announcements will be made at the event. You can track the chatter — from Ingram and other sources — on www.MSPtweet.com.
