HP Makes More SMB Moves
November 13, 2009
As part of a “Total-Care” push, Hewlett-Packard continues to expand its SMB product portfolio for channel partners. While the moves aren’t groundbreaking, they could provide numerous upsell opportunities for VARs and managed service providers. Here’s a super-quick rundown…
According to Kathy Chou, VP of Worldwide Small and Midsize Business Strategy at HP: “SMBs are the pulse of the economy, and HP is partnering with SMBs to provide a boost as the economy rebounds…”
Hooray. The new line-up is geared to be cost-effective, aimed to optimizing new or existing resources and all spiffy and “green” for your energy concerns. There’s two new desktops with related displays, new virtual collaboration work environments, a new printer, and some tweaks on storage and network solutions.
The three takeaways that seem worth your time are:
HP Virtual Rooms: allows users to connect with business contacts, employees or family at any time.
The HP ProCurve 2520 Switch Series is designed for SMBs that need to deploy voice, video and wireless applications requiring PoE (Power-over-Ethernet).
The HP ProLiant ML110 and DL120 G6 Servers offer SMBs enterprise-class performance at a cost-effective price.
In order to help VARs accelerate customer purchases, HP is offering financing on many of the purchases.
